New trade fair in India
New Delhi (India) / Cologne. Koelnmesse has officially announced the launch of imm india. The trade fair will take place from March 11 to 14, 2026, in New Delhi and is being organized in collaboration with the country's leading industry associations.
Located at the Yashobhoomi convention and exhibition center (India International Convention and Expo Centre, IICC), the new B2B trade fair will bring together exhibitors from the furniture and interior design sectors with more than 5,000 buyers from India and around the world. As a strategic extension of imm cologne, imm india positions itself as a central platform offering global brands a targeted entry into the growing Indian market, while opening up international sales channels for Indian manufacturers.
According to the organizers, the premiere of imm india comes at a time when India's furniture and furnishings industry is experiencing rapid development – driven by a rising middle class, rapid urbanization, and a highly dynamic retail environment. The domestic furniture market reached a volume of approximately USD 23.8 billion in 2024. This is expected to rise to USD 44.2 billion by 2033, corresponding to an average annual growth rate of 6.4%. At the same time, exports from India continue to gain importance: Between November 2023 and October 2024, exports grew by 4% – primarily to the USA, Europe, and the Middle East.
imm india aims to cover the entire spectrum of modern interior design solutions – from furniture for the home, contract, and outdoor living segments to lighting, floor and wall coverings, textiles, accessories, and specialized segments such as kitchens. The interplay of traditional Indian craftsmanship with a modern design language, as well as globally influential industry trends such as sustainable materials, intelligent technology integration, and modular concepts, will represent the thematic focus of the event.
Gerald Böse, Chairman of the Management Board of Koelnmesse GmbH, explained: "With imm india, we are bringing the proven concept of imm cologne to a market with immense potential in close cooperation with renowned Indian industry organizations. Together, with the new event, we are creating a strong, future-oriented format for exchange, networking, and international business relations that will further strengthen the global interiors industry."
